Growth Mentality
I think it's been said “If your not growing, your dying”. Not sure who said that but to a certain extent I think it is true. Growth brings more. More opportunities, more challenges and more influence. It buffers against change and hardship.
Growth for the sake of growth seems a bit meaningless, but is still better than sitting on your butt doing nothing. Growth can give that goal or meaning in times where you just don’t want to do anything or you don’t know what you want to do. Then because of the growth a new opportunity or way of doing things happens and you can once again see the meaning and purpose.
At ABC our growth is focused on a few key principals and is based on this phrase:
“Organically grow at a maintainable rate by providing exceptional service”
Maintainable = not lose anything, keep up with current owners and tenants, maintain relationships with owners and tenants.
Organically = people can seek us out, we make everything available to those who want it, but minimally outreach.
Exceptional Service = going beyond what owners ask for, need or want. Anticipating what they would want and providing that with no strings attached.
We put forth aggressive growth models with the intent to inspire and get our teams excited. We put out really nice incentives to our teams to meet those goals. We want our teams to benefit from the growth as much as the company does.
In the end, Growth is a main focus of our company, but not the only focus. We will not sacrifice service for growth. We are not in this for a quick buck, but want consistent continual growth.
